The question of determinism and the free will of man

Contemporary astrology is not occupied with fortune telling; it is more involved in understanding and using of inner potentials. To explain the components that life consists of, this discipline disposes only with symbols which denote these basic energy components.
Man is a creative creature – different religions, philosophies and arts agree about that. Man creates his own world on the basis of inner ideal samples and the reality he lives in corresponds to those samples. Psychologist Carel Jung understood this connection between inner and outer processes as a sort of synchronicity.
The French astrologist Hadès Alain Yaouanc wrote that some sort of determinism certainly exists - we are determined by the place and time we were born in - but he refuses to think about absolute determinism. He commented that many people today were baffled by this question because contemporary science did not offer them basic spiritual knowledge. That is way they often stay between the matter and the feeling of despair (Manuel Complet D'astrologie Scientifique Et Taditionnel, F.de Villac, Paris, 1992). Astrology is important because it helps people become aware of the energy that surrounds them and it also encourages them to use this energy freely in accordance with their own needs.
